Thomas Kloetzke

Thomas Kloetzke is a PhD candidate in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland and holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Meteorology from the Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany. As a recipient of the Bushfire & Natural Hazards CRC Scholarship, Mr. Kloetzke is examining tropical cyclone boundary layer complex flow interactions with terrain during the landfall phase over northeastern Queensland and U.S. coastal regions using the Advanced Research Weather and Research Forecasting (WRF-ARW) model. His PhD project is titled, “Measurement and analysis of surface wind fields during landfalling tropical cyclones.”
